By using ParentAhead, submitting forms, booking sessions, applying as a mentor, or communicating with us, you consent to the collection, use, and sharing of personal information as described in this Privacy Policy. 

Information We Collect

  • ParentAhead aims to collect only the information reasonably needed to provide mentoring, booking, payment, support, safety, and platform services.

  • ParentAhead may collect information you provide to us, including:

    • name, email address, phone number, location, time zone, and communication preferences;

    • booking details, mentor selection, session history, payment status, and support requests;

    • information submitted through forms, intake questions, mentor applications, reviews, or emails;

    • student-related information shared by a parent or guardian, such as grade level, school system, goals, activities, school lists, admissions plans, learning needs, or family concerns;

    • mentor profile information, such as background, experience, student outcomes, mentoring topics, availability, pricing, payout details, and supporting materials.

  • We may also collect basic technical information, such as browser type, device information, IP address, pages visited, referral source, and website usage data.

How We Use Information

ParentAhead may use personal information to:

  • operate the website and platform;

  • match clients with suitable parent mentors;

  • process bookings, payments, confirmations, reminders, reschedules, refunds, and payouts;

  • prepare mentors for sessions using client-submitted questions and context;

  • provide support and respond to inquiries;

  • review mentor applications and maintain mentor profiles;

  • improve our services, website, user experience, and platform safety;

  • prevent misuse, enforce our Terms of Use and Parent Mentor Agreement, and resolve disputes;

  • send service-related emails and, where permitted, ParentAhead updates.

How We Share Information

  • ParentAhead may share relevant client-submitted information with selected or recommended parent mentors so they can prepare for and deliver sessions. This may include the client parent’s name, contact details, student grade level, school system, goals, questions, and relevant background context.

  • ParentAhead may also share information with service providers that help us operate the platform, such as website hosting, forms, booking, scheduling, payment processing, email, video meetings, analytics, data storage, customer support, and operations tools. These providers may process personal information only as needed to provide services to ParentAhead or as otherwise described in their own terms and privacy policies. 

  • ParentAhead does not sell personal information to third parties.

Payments

  • ParentAhead uses third-party payment providers, such as Stripe, Borderless, or other approved payment processors, to process client payments and mentor payouts.

  • ParentAhead does not intentionally store full credit card or bank account details on its own website systems. Payment providers process payment information according to their own terms and privacy policies.

Student and Minor Information

  • ParentAhead is designed for parents and adult users, not for children to use independently. Parents or guardians may share information when needed about their child or student so they can receive more relevant mentoring guidance. If you share student information, you confirm that you are the parent, guardian, or authorized adult with permission to share it. 

  • Children under 13 should not create accounts, book sessions, or submit personal information directly to ParentAhead. If we learn that a child under 13 has submitted personal information directly without appropriate parental consent, we will take reasonable steps to delete it. 

  • Students under 18 may participate in sessions only with parent or guardian involvement, as described in our Terms of Use and Parent Mentor Agreement. 

Reviews and Testimonials

  • If you submit a review or testimonial, ParentAhead may use it for platform, marketing, trust-building, or service-improvement purposes.

  • ParentAhead may edit reviews for length, clarity, formatting, grammar, or privacy. We will avoid intentionally publishing confidential student or family information without permission.

Cookies and Analytics

  • ParentAhead may use cookies, pixels, analytics tools, and similar technologies to operate the website, understand website usage, improve user experience, and support marketing or advertising.

  • You can usually adjust cookie settings through your browser. Some website features may not work properly if cookies are disabled.

Data Retention

  • ParentAhead keeps personal information only as long as reasonably necessary to provide services, maintain records, resolve disputes, process payments, comply with legal obligations, and improve platform safety.

  • By using ParentAhead, you understand that personal information may be processed or stored in Canada, the United States, or other countries where ParentAhead or its service providers operate.
